Split it up into smaller, functional areas; for example, dedicate one spot as a dining area, one spot as a lounge area, and another as a garden. When there are specific destinations, the area will seem much larger.

Play with elevation

Try adding in some different elevations into your yard; for instance, you could put in a raise flower bed that sits higher than your deck, or a sunken in garden and a raised patio. Doing so will make it easier to separate the yard; plus, it creates an optical illusion that will make it look like a much larger yard.

Choose accessories wisely
